Plan C: The Full-Time Employee and Part-Time Entrepreneur (Digital Only) Press:ISBDC IIB WISH-TV CBS Radio - Career Coach Caroline The Entrepreneurial Mind The Huffington Post ©2011, Yuspie, LLC Why I wrote it: This is the first edition of a book that is going to rock the world and challenge the way we’ve done career development in the U.S. Plan A: Go to a good college, get a great “professional” job—then get pink slipped and laid off (been there, done that.) Plan B: Chuck it all, declare yourself a full time entrepreneur—work twice as hard as you did as a professional, for half as much money. Get tired, frustrated, and run out of money—then close your business, broke. Plan C: Don’t leave the day job. Keep it. Don’t give up the entrepreneurial dream, either. Keep that too. DO BOTH! We interview several professionals living the Plan C life, and argue that the new “safe” career is having multiple careers moving forward simultaneously. |

Single. Women. Entrepreneurs.
Press:
The NY Times Dan Pink Entrepreneur.com NAWBO Singular City Why I wrote it: The number of unmarried adult women actually outnumbers the number of married women for the first time in US history. Women are now earning more, going to college and graduate schools more often, and finding ways to become more independent. Also, according to the Kauffman Foundation, single, divorced and widowed women are starting more businesses as entrepreneurs than men in their respective categories. This book interviews single women entrepreneurs throughout the US to discern why they started their own original businesses, what the perceived advantages and disadvantages are for the single woman entrepreneur, what they each learned from the experience, and what advice they have for the next generation of single women entrepreneurs.

The Life Science Lawyer
©2009, Pharm, LLC Order it from: Amazon B & N Publisher Kindle Why I wrote it: As a 1L, I looked for a book and couldn’t find one on this subject. There are several thousand life science attorneys in the US and world, but I couldn’t find a book on their amazing stories. So, I decided to do a little qualitative research and learn about them and share it with the world, before law school. Why did they go to law school after their life science/healthcare education, and what are they doing with their careers? Find out in this book, where I interviewed over 30 life science/healthcare and law hybrid professionals. ![]() |

The Medical Science Liaison: An A to Z Guide
©2007, Pharm, LLC Order it from: Amazon B & N Publisher Why I wrote it: I have been in the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role for many companies, and started my own consulting company (Pharm, LLC) to help others with the role. There was no resource guide on the basics of the role, so I created one along with my pal, Dr. Cathy Sass. This is the first book on the MSL. ![]() |

Pharmacy and Me ©2012, Multiple Authors Why I wrote it: I didn’t write ANY of it! But, I was one of 3 faculty mentors on this project. Nine senior students from my alma mater, Butler University (3 from the College of Pharmacy, 3 from the College of Education and 3 from the Jordan College of Fine Arts) wrote and illustrated a book for children on what pharmacy is, and what pharmacists do--in order to educate about pharmacy in a fun way! This interdisciplinary project has taken a year to publish, and the 9 students rocked it. If you want it via ebook, it's on its way--links will be coming soon. If you want a hardcopy? Sorry, the only place on Earth it will be for sale in hardcopy is the Butler University bookstore. Proceeds from this project are going to fund other interdisciplinary projects across Butler's campus. |

Proceeds from this book are going to Hodgkin’s research and a scholarship fund at Butler University. |

Indianapolis: A Young Professional's Guide
©2008, Yuspie, LLC Order it from: Amazon B & N Publisher Why I wrote it: This book grew out of a product from Yuspie, LLC for its members. There was no good print resource on things like where to get great leadership training in town, to living green, to great third spaces with free wi-fi, so I blew the basic online edition of the guide for Yuspie members into a full-fledged book for young professionals either new to the city or just getting out of their college bubbles, in an effort to make the city more user friendly. ![]() |

Dear Me ©2011 "When reading this book, keep a highlighter close at hand to illuminate the bits of wisdom that seem aimed directly at you. I did, and when I finished the last page the book was aglow in yellow ink. Dear Me may have begun as a clever concept--letters to our younger selves-- but it evolved into a collection of insightful essays to be savored and passed on to all members of the sisterhood." |

Business, Networking & Sex: Not What You Think ©2011 "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus, but networking is networking right? Wrong, how we communicate with each other has a direct impact on our ability to connect and get connected. I wrote this book because I have been concerned about women's inability to leverage the networks that they build. If we can learn to bridge the gap there is more success for all of us. This book will educate, entertain and aggravate you, so have fun with it." |
